Gala Nanny Training and Hiring Agency Limited is a team of professionals with vast experience in the fields of Health, Psychology, Business, Communication, Social Work, Business and Home Economics.

Emanating from our professional knowledge and from our lived experiences, we draw out knowledge that is critical to the care of a child and package it so that is can be delivered to every parent and childcare provider.

Our passion is to see every child receive the nurturing care that they are worthy of, to enable them grow into wholesome adults who have beautiful memories of their childhood.

Who We Are

We Aim For Gold!

Gala Nanny Training and Hiring Agency Limited was founded by Ms. Jane Mugala in November, 2020, and subsequently registered in as a sole proprietor business on 28th April, 2021. From its inception, it was determined that the business was going to be marked by excellence, meeting both national and international standards, hence our mantra, ‘We Aim for Gold’. The business started major operations in late 2022. Appreciating our big vision, partnerships were critical. In late 2023, two parties came on board and it became a limited company.

To date, we have taken time to understand the needs of families, who are our clients, and those of childcare providers, particularly, the Nanny. We have introduced, and continue to introduce to Zambian communities the literal meaning of the word ‘Nanny’ and what the profession entails. Our goal is to ensure that a clear distinction be made between a ‘Nanny’ and a ‘Maid’; and we will continue to pursue this goal for the country working with Government and stakeholders.

In as much as we want to ensure that families have access to quality childcare services, our services are structured in such a way as to also ensure that we also uplift the living standards of the Gala Nannies. It is our greatest hope that the services we provide will enrich families and childcare providers, for the sake of the child.

Our Vision

Our vision is to establish the provision of childcare training services in Zambia through the development and administration of excellent and robust training curricula that will evolve in keeping with scientific advancements; and set up of top of the range training institution that will set the highest bar for excellent nanny training in Zambia. The institution will also serve as a centre for learning for parents and childcare providers of ‘all things family’.

Our Mission

To ensure parents and childcare providers purposefully and intentionally contribute towards the intellectual, social-emotional, behavioral and physical development of children during their childhood, thereby setting them up for a wholesome adult life.

Our Team

Our policies and operations are based on Christian biblical teachings as we provide services to both national and international clients.

Our Board of Directors is composed of three outstanding women with a love and passion for family life; and have proven to be high achievers in their professional lives

The Operations Team

Our exceptional Operations Team comprises two divisions, the Training Unit and the Hiring Unit, with a General Manager providing oversight of the two divisions. The Training Unit, responsible for the delivery of our Training Programs, is composed of Specialist Educators from the fields of Health, Psychology and Home Economics. The Hiring Unit has the responsibility of ensuring the Gala Nannies are matched with families that are a perfect fit; and ensuring continued basic human resource services are provided to every employer-nanny relationship. The Unit is composed of specialists in Marketing and Human Resources.

Jane Mugala

In 2014, life took me on a journey that lasted six years, leading to the birthing of Gala Nanny Training and Hiring Agency Limited. Not fully realising at the start that life had set me on a journey, I slowly began to unpeel the layers of my heritage as I went along on this course.

For the first time in my life, I scrutinized my childhood through the eyes of an adult. I soon came to understand that there were some aspects of my life that I was dealing with as an adult which could directly be related to how I was raised.

This season of my life was an opportune time where a number of things collided. To begin with, I came into contact with so many of my friends of my generation and we all pondered on our childhoods, laughing and crying at our experiences. This was also the time that I acquired knowledge on research on Early Childhood Development. It further cemented the fact of how our childhood experiences affect our wellbeing as adults. Additionally, interestingly enough, the challenges that employers, families, were experiencing with their maids were also magnified. It was as though the heavens were presenting me a need that had to be addressed and they trusted that I could do it. I had the lived experience and my professional experience had equipped me to put an idea into effect in everyday life.

A Teacher, Mentor and Counsellor at heart, preparation and opportunity allowed purpose to be revealed; and Gala Nanny Training and Hiring Agency Limited was born.

It is my prayer and hope that our services to our global community will touch a child’s life and enable that child to have beautiful wholesome memories of their childhood.
